A PLAY OF ONE'S OWN† (Edinburgh International Festival):
I was absolutely enamored with the performance; subtle, understated, delicate; a perfect evocation of Virginia - from girlhood to her death. Reiner has great stage presence, and...having read so much about and by VW, I know her voice, her feelings, her mannerisms, and Reiner certainly caught her.
- BBC SCOTLAND, VIVIEN DEVLIN
Excellent! Four ****! To see Alysia Reiner as Virginia Woolf...is one of the treasures of this year's festival. In a haunting performance, Reiner evokes the ultimate loneliness...of Woolf's never-ending quest for love and artistic fulfillment.
- THE EVENING NEWS
From comical anecdotes to her heart-rending suicide, Alysia Reiner's Virginia Woolf is a genuine tour de force...this could well be the highlight of the Festival.
- TRIPLE F GUIDE TO THE EDINBURGH FESTIVAL
A sensitive portrait...told memorably and without embellishment by American actress Alysia Reiner...who brings humor, pathos, and a fresh perspective to the story of the Bloomsbury luminary.
- SCOTLAND ON SUNDAY
A beautiful and touching performance... Alysia Reiner captures Woolf's intense ethereal and aesthetic view of the world with compelling sincerity and great sensitivity.
